Uganda: Outrage after minister says ‘only an idiot’ can die of hunger in his country

Uganda’s International Affairs Minister Henry Okello Oryem has drawn the ire of the general public after he labeled individuals who have died of starvation within the East African nation as “idiots.” In line with BBC, a report from an official human rights physique acknowledged that over 2,200 individuals in north-east Uganda died on account of starvation and related ailments in 2022.
