The Hollywood strike, for writers and actors, is now over

The Hollywood strike is formally over.

On Nov. 9, the SAG-AFTRA introduced the strike between main studios and the union representing actors has come to an finish, as the 2 sides agreed on a contract valued at over $1 billion. The announcement comes a bit of over a month after the tip of the Writers Guild of America strike on Sept. 27.

“We have now achieved a deal of extraordinary scope that features ‘above-pattern’ minimal compensation will increase,” the official assertion from the union learn, “unprecedented provisions for consent and compensation that may shield members from the specter of AI, and for the primary time establishes a streaming participation bonus … We have now arrived at a contract that may allow SAG-AFTRA members from each class to construct sustainable careers.”

The strike lasted for 118 days. In the course of the strike, union members have been requested to not work on main manufacturing units or promote any tasks they’d launched in the timeframe.
