Seen But Not Heard: Black Moms Say Docs Ignore Their Needs

Mothers Really feel Unseen and Unheard

The CDC analyzed survey responses from 2,400 ladies about maternal care administered from April 24-30, 2023. 

Roughly 30% of ladies reported discrimination throughout their visits, together with 40% of Black ladies, 39% of multicultural ladies, and 37% of Hispanic ladies. 

The commonest types of mistreatment reported have been receiving no response to requests for assist, being shouted at or scolded, not having their bodily privateness protected, and being threatened with withholding remedy or made to just accept undesirable remedy.

Practically half of ladies reported holding again questions and issues from their supplier as a result of fears of being perceived as tough, missing confidence in regards to the topic being addressed, and different causes.

Altering the Tradition of Care
