Neve Campbell introduced in June 2022 that she was leaving the “Scream” franchise as a result of she didn’t really feel she was being correctly compensated to reprise her function of Sidney Prescott within the sixth film.

Even so, she might see herself coming again some day “below the best circumstances,” Campbell informed me Saturday on the BAFTA Tea occasion on the Maybourne lodge in Beverly Hills.

That mentioned, it’s unclear what is occurring with the franchise in the meanwhile after director Christopher Landon dropped out of the seventh movie. Landon’s exit got here shortly after star Jenna Ortega introduced she was not return because of scheduling conflicts together with her “Wednesday” manufacturing calendar and co-star Melissa Barrera was fired over social media posts concerning the Israel-Palestine battle. Each actors starred within the fifth and sixth “Scream” movies.

Campbell hopes the franchise will proceed. “I truthfully don’t don’t know what their plans are,” she mentioned. “I do know lots has gone on round it and I’m positive they’re spinning slightly bit in the meanwhile.”

She continued, “These motion pictures imply lots to us and so they imply lots to the followers. I’m going to those conventions generally and I meet  the followers and so they’re frantic about these movies. They love them. These movies imply lots to them and these characters imply lots to them. So even for his or her sake, I might like to see it proceed.”

In November, Campbell spoke out concerning the determination to kill off Dewey (David Arquette) within the fifth movie. “I believed it was tragic and I don’t often prefer to criticize the writing in these tasks,” she mentioned throughout an look at Monster-Mania Con. “However I used to be actually disenchanted of their option to do away with David. Dewey’s such an exquisite character, and I feel we had been all in love with him and I feel all of us felt fairly unhappy about that. Which after all is the rationale they do it, as a result of it has extra influence, however now I miss him. I need to see extra of him.”
