Residents of Richmond Hill/South Ozone Park, Queens, can register to obtain free rain barrels this coming Sunday, Aug. 6. State Sen. Joseph Addabbo and the Division of Environmental Safety (DEP) will give away 55-gallon plastic rain barrels on the Lefferts Boulevard/Linden Boulevard parking zone, throughout the road from the Key Meals grocery store.
Residents should pre-register with State Sen. Addabbo’s workplace at 718-738-1111 and have their identify, tackle, and cellphone quantity added to the checklist for the giveaway. Pre-registrants will have the ability to decide up their rain barrels from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Barrels left over after scheduled registrants are speculated to obtain them can be given out to the general public on a first-come, first-served foundation from 12 midday to 1 p.m.
Registrants should present a photograph ID to verify their identify and tackle to assert their barrel.
