Q&A WITH ENHLE MBALI MLOTSHWA

What was the inspiration behind your assortment?

The inspiration behind the present was a play on the phrase Amazulu translated “the heavens”. It’s derived from the Zulu nation, which ties in Africa and African traditions modernised by The Home of Essie. It was a jovial piece of artwork exhibiting how our spirit dance in life, how we stay in color and lightweight of our spirit that constantly shines by means of our angels and God.”

What was your imaginative and prescient for the fashions on the runway?

My imaginative and prescient for the fashions on the runway was what would Africa seem like within the Stone Age?  So I mimicked animal cover into totally different textiles, we used heavy beading as a reminder of previous tradition and maintaining the craft alive.

What do you assume units Essie Attire aside?

What units Essie Attire other than a number of manufacturers is a simplistic interpretation of fashion assembly trend within the crossroad of Couture.

That’s an ideal recipe for a model that’s received worldwide design awards.

How did it really feel near SA Trend Week?

I used to be sick the entire week main as much as SA Trend Week however I couldn’t let that cease me, I had the considered not exhibiting and doing it the subsequent season as I used to be pushing myself every day, however my guardian angels and ancestors carried me by means of.  I’m truly glad I showcased this season and I believe this present will go down as most likely considered one of my greatest.

As an artist I’m delicate about my work, so seeing the reception was completely humbling.
