NNPA Condemns Attacks on Israel

In the present day, in a show of unity, the Nationwide Newspaper Publishers Affiliation (NNPA), representing the Black Press of America, issued a resolute assertion of assist for Israel amidst the latest escalation of battle within the Center East.

In a joint assertion launched on Saturday, October 7, NNPA Chair Bobby Henry and NNPA President and CEO Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr. unequivocally condemned the devastating acts of violence perpetrated towards the Jewish folks and the nation of Israel by Hamas. The militant group’s firing of a lethal barrage of rockets and infiltration of Israeli territory marked a big escalation within the ongoing battle between the 2 sides.

“The Nationwide Newspaper Publishers Affiliation (NNPA), representing the Black Press of America, forthrightly condemns the brutal, deadly terrorist assaults at present on the Jewish folks and the nation of Israel by Hamas,” learn the assertion. “Terrorism towards harmless civilians in Israel and in some other place on this planet can by no means be justified, tolerated, or sanctioned. We stand firmly in solidarity with Israel.”

The assertion underscores the unity and solidarity between the African American and Jewish communities within the face of adversity. Whereas their shared historical past is advanced and nuanced, the NNPA’s declaration underscores their shared widespread floor by condemning violence and terrorism towards harmless civilians, no matter the place it happens.

The NNPA, based in 1940, is the commerce affiliation for African American-owned newspapers and media firms all through the US. Its mission is to advocate for the African American press and promote the significance of Black-owned media in shaping public opinion and preserving the African American cultural expertise.

The assist for Israel comes at a crucial juncture, and it emphasizes the significance of solidarity with nations and communities going through acts of violence and terrorism, transcending historic variations to unite in a typical trigger.
