Nigerian-American Wins Tubi’s Stubios Greenlight Contest

Rosemary Idisi’s unique horror movie “Glamping” will premiere on Tubi on Friday, Oct. 24.

Nigerian-American actress, author, and producer Rosemary Idisi has gained Tubi’s inaugural Stubios Greenlight Contest, the streaming platform introduced on Oct. 3.

Her unique horror/thriller movie, Glamping, will premiere on the platform on Friday, Oct. 24.

Idisi obtained probably the most fan votes in Tubi’s first-ever contest, a part of the platform’s new fan-driven creator studio designed to assist aspiring filmmakers and their audiences.

“I’m enthusiastic about bringing numerous characters to life on display screen, particularly in genres the place we haven’t historically seen ourselves,” stated Idisi. “Stubios gave me the entry, mentorship, and group assist that younger filmmakers like me hardly ever obtain. I can’t wait to deliver GLAMPING to a broader viewers.”

“Only a Nigerian woman with massive desires and tales to inform,” she gushed on X.

Initially a brief movie, Glamping follows a seemingly good weekend getaway in Massive Bear that turns horrifying when a masked killer targets aspiring influencer Olivia and her group of mates. The characteristic movie expands on Idisi’s unique quick by diving deeper into the characters’ backstories to intensify suspense and see a extra numerous illustration of survival techniques in a conventional horror movie.

The competition comes on the heels of Tubi’s 2024 launch of Stubios, a part of Tubi for Creators. Stubios is a fan-driven creator studio that helps aspiring filmmakers with funding, mentorship, and a direct path to premiere their unique long-form content material on Tubi.

By giving creators larger management, Tubi seeks to bridge the hole to Hollywood, broaden its viewers, and champion underrepresented voices in media.
