The incident, which occurred on September 18, 2023, in Seaside Heights, concerned Collins punching a 70-year-old white man, Robert Might, who had been harassing Collins’ household for months. On that day, Might not solely collided with Collins’ spouse on his bicycle but in addition hurled a racial slur at Collins. The Ocean County Prosecutor, Bradley D. Billhimer, acknowledged the challenges in proving the case, which influenced the plea settlement and subsequent sentencing. The prosecutor recommended Might’s household for his or her understanding and acceptance of the authorized consequence, although using the time period “sufferer” in reference to Might has been contentious, given the circumstances main as much as his demise.
