NCBW hosts HBCU fair and panel discussion in Bergen County

Alumni from a number of traditionally Black faculties and universities (HBCUs) got here collectively on Feb. 22 at Bergen Group School for the seventh annual HBCU Panel Dialogue & Combine and Mingle.

The occasion was hosted by the Bergen/Passaic Chapter of the Nationwide Coalition of 100 Black Ladies, Inc. (NCBW) and Teaneck Public Colleges.

Delaware State College (DSU) alumnus and NCBW member Daybreak Tennent organized the occasion. She was impressed to start the annual program after the 2016 passing of her cousin, late journalist and DSU alumnus Michael J. Feeney.

College students and their households have been handled to a school truthful and panel dialogue with native HBCU alumni the place they requested questions concerning the Black faculty expertise. Info was additionally out there about scholarships, monetary assist and upcoming faculty excursions.

Colleges represented on the faculty truthful included DSU, Alabama State College, Tuskegee College, Grambling State College, College of Maryland Japanese Shore, North Carolina Central College, St. Augustine’s College, Lincoln College (PA), Tennessee State College, Hampton College, Morgan State College, Shaw College and Claflin College.
