‘My focus remains healing’: Miss Jamaica provides an update on her health as she thanks her medical team

After struggling a scary fall that went viral, Miss Jamaica Dr. Gabrielle Henry is giving well-wishers a quick replace on her well being following a fall through the preliminary night robe portion of the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand on November 19.

On Instagram, Henry shared a photograph of herself sporting a blue costume and posing for the digital camera, accompanied by a prolonged caption detailing her expertise within the hospital as she continues her highway to restoration.

“In a time that requires stillness and therapeutic, I’m grateful to be in Jamaica and to really feel the acquainted energy of Jamaica surrounding me 💚🖤💛,” she started. “I prolong honest because of my household, pals, for each prayer lifted on my behalf from my fellow Jamaicans, and to those that stood with me by moments seen and unseen.”

Henry additionally provided her gratitude to the medical groups in Thailand and all of those that have been by her aspect, together with the Miss Universe Jamaica Workforce and the Jamaica Vacationer Board.

“As Miss Jamaica Universe 2025 and an ophthalmology resident, I’m reminded that moments of darkness don’t diminish imaginative and prescient; they refine it,” Henry wrote. “Whereas I proceed to get well, I’m impressed by the way in which Jamaicans rise, undeterred, after adversity. In time, extra shall be shared. For now, my focus stays therapeutic, objective, and repair.”

The Miss Universe Group launched an announcement on Dec. 8 revealing the character of Henry’s accidents.

“Dr. Henry suffered a severe fall by a gap on the stage whereas performing her stroll through the preliminary competitors on November 19, 2025, leading to an intracranial hemorrhage with lack of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and different important accidents,” the press launch learn.

Henry was rushed to the hospital in essential situation after her fall and remained hospitalized for days as her sister and others supplied updates on her situation.

Melissa Sapini, Miss Haiti, referred to as out the Miss Universe group’s “gross misconduct,” claiming that the group tried to initially place the blame on Dr. Henry in a dialog with contestants shortly after the incident occurred. The MUO denied blaming Henry for her accidents and requested for these speculating about Henry or any improper actions by the group to hunt “internal peace.”
