Considered one of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s most poignant moments was when he delivered his “I Have a Dream” Speech in entrance of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 28, 1963.

However greater than 60 years later, has his dream grow to be a nightmare?

What would Dr. King consider controversial Republican President Donald Trump being inaugurated for the second time after working on a platform of disenfranchisement and politics that threatens to set again the features of Black and Brown individuals?

What’s extra troubling than his politics is the help Trump has acquired from some Black and Brown individuals, whereas many others have taken a extra apathetic strategy. Not practically sufficient individuals appeared bothered or able to act as we face an unsure future these subsequent 4 years.

What would Dr. King, who used civil disobedience to vary the guts of this nation, take into consideration how issues stand as we speak and sooner or later?

In our newest episode, the Defender Roundtable panel ponders what Dr. King’s ideas can be about the place we’re as a individuals as we speak.
