Meet the Street Librarian Giving Away 1,000’s of Free Books to Black Children

Nationwide — Araba Maze, a cellular librarian from Baltimore, Maryland, is on a mission to extend entry to books in underserved areas by giving free books to native Black youngsters by way of her pop-up outlets and merchandising machines.

Maze mentioned it began about 5 years in the past when she was studying youngsters’s books to her niece on a Baltimore stoop and he or she observed that different neighborhood children would come by to pay attention. Since then, she began gathering books that she often learn for storytime with them.
