Man fatally shot wife, brother-in-law to prevent her from knowing he fathered other children, officials say

Authorities in Georgia stated a convicted man fatally shot his spouse and brother-in-law in an try to forestall her from realizing he shared two kids with different girls. In line with PEOPLE, Jaquavia Jackson killed his spouse Shakeema Jackson and her brother Levoy Brown at her Convington residence on October 27, 2021. Shakeema was a Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The Newton County District Legal professional’s Workplace in a press release stated Jackson and Shakeema had been subpoenaed to look earlier than a courtroom on October 28, 2021. The assertion stated the couple’s pending courtroom look stemmed from two girls claiming Jackson “had fathered kids with them.”

Authorities stated Newton County Sheriff’s deputies who responded to the scene on the evening of the murders discovered the victims with gunshot wounds. Jackson, who was on the scene, is alleged to have “claimed, each on scene and in an interview on the Sheriff’s Workplace, that two unknown males entered the home and killed his spouse and her brother.”

However footage from a neighbor’s safety digital camera “confirmed nobody coming or going from the entrance of the residence.” The assertion additionally stated that on the morning of the murders, Jackson “known as a neighbor throughout the road to ask if his safety digital camera had been working. He was informed they weren’t.”

“Crime scene investigation confirmed that the defendant fired a staged shot in home to make it appear like he had fired at these made up intruders,” the assertion added.

Jackson was discovered responsible of two counts of malice homicide, 2 counts of felony homicide, 2 counts of aggravated assault, and a couple of counts of possession of a firearm throughout a felony. The convicted man stays in custody as he awaits his sentencing. 

“A daughter and a son had been taken from a household in a single horrific, premeditated incident. Nothing can ever make up for the great lack of Shakeema and Levoy. However this verdict holds the individual accountable that took them from their household,” District Legal professional Randy McGinley stated.
