Local Organization Helps Black Women Access Medical care – Los Angeles Sentinel

The Los Angeles County Division of Public Well being (Public Well being) acknowledges the very important work of its accomplice organizations, together with Black Girls Rally for Motion and East LA Girls’s Middle, in supporting ladies, moms, and ladies in underserved and weak communities.

Public Well being’s Group Well being Employee Outreach Initiative helps community-based organizations that use a peer-to-peer strategy to make sure equitable entry to sources and important companies to communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

By means of the County COVID-19 Group Fairness Fund, Public Well being works with and trains system navigators in under-resourced and weak communities, who can then assist people and households entry very important sources.

System navigators are specialists to find, researching and accessing sources for the folks most in want. Equipping native organizations with system navigators is a community-centered intervention that may assist scale back inequities.

Black Girls Rally for Motion was based in 2019 to facilitate and convene efforts wanted to enhance the well being and well-being outcomes for Black ladies. In November 2022, Black Girls Rally for Motion and Public Well being launched a booster marketing campaign to extend COVID-19 boosters amongst Black Girls in Los Angeles County and supply entry to medical sources.

East LA Girls’s Middle has offered COVID help, outreach, sources and training by way of the Group Well being Staff Outreach Initiative. The mission of the East Los Angeles Girls’s Middle is to make sure that all ladies, ladies and their households reside in a spot of security, well being and private well-being, free from violence and abuse, with equal entry to mandatory well being companies and social help, with an emphasis on Latino communities.
