Emmett Till’s Accuser Carolyn Bryant Donham Has Died

“After listening to each side of the investigation and proof collected relating to Donham’s involvement, the Grand Jury returned a ‘No Invoice’ to the costs of each Kidnapping and Manslaughter,” the assertion stated. “The homicide of Emmett Until stays an unforgettable tragedy on this nation and the ideas and prayers of this nation proceed to be with the household of Emmett Until.”

Virtually 70 years after Until’s homicide, President Joe Biden signed the Emmett Until Anti-Lynching Act, making lynching a federal hate crime in April 2023.
