“I needed to be higher,” she recollects. “I had no room for errors. I needed to be higher than my counterparts who weren’t Black. I additionally needed to overcome being a Black lady. It was actually arduous, however it taught me tenacity and it taught me perseverance.”

Dr. Webb stated being true to herself and her roots has been very rewarding.

“I’m so proud to be a voice for my neighborhood,” she stated. “At first, I used to be anxious that they could not see previous my white coat to view me as an advocate. However I’ve been capable of construct bridges by staying true to myself and the place I’m from. Establishing these relationships with sufferers in my neighborhood has been particularly gratifying.”

As for her message to the Black neighborhood, particularly Black youth who might really feel annoyed by the numerous challenges they’re going through in life, Dr. Webb famous, “Don’t permit folks to place you in a field.
