Justice Department enters consent decree with Fulton County over jail conditions

ATLANTA (AP) — The U.S. Justice Division introduced Jan. 3 that it has entered right into a court-enforceable settlement with Georgia’s most populous county after discovering that violence and filthy situations in county lockups violated the constitutional rights of individuals held in jail.

The Justice Division has filed a criticism and proposed consent decree in federal court docket, and the settlement should nonetheless be accredited by a choose, the company stated in a information launch.
