After a decade in growth, “Jujutsu Kaisen” helmer Park Sunghoo is readying “Bullet/Bullet,” a high-stakes anime collection premiering completely on Disney+.
The post-apocalyptic journey follows Gear, a junk supplier with a secret double life as a thief. Partnering with Qu-0213, a multi-personality robotic, and Shirokuma, a gambling-addicted polar bear, the trio operates as elite thieves-for-hire till rescuing a mysterious woman places them on a collision course with their society’s energy construction.
Park, who just lately gained greatest unique anime on the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, directs from a script by Aki Kindaichi (“Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray”). The manufacturing options character designs by chief animation director Takahiro Yoshimatsu (“Future GPX Cyber Formulation,” “Hunter x Hunter”) and idea/mechanical designs from Hidetaka Tenjin (“Cell Swimsuit Gundam,” “Macross”).
Marina Inoue (“Assault on Titan,” “Smile PreCure!”) voices protagonist Gear, with Kazuhiro Yamaji (“Psycho-Move,” “One-Punch Man”) as Shirokuma. Disney+ will launch the 16-episode collection in two components, with the primary eight episodes dropping July 16 and the ultimate eight arriving August 13.
