J’Bay Open film premieres at Corona Cero Open

The Corona Studios movie Feeling J’Bay premiered throughout the occasion’s opening ceremony on Thursday afternoon. 

This brief documentary highlights the essence of Jeffreys Bay, one of many world’s most iconic surf locations, because it explores the neighborhood’s connection to the famed Supertubes break.

Shot in and round Jeffreys Bay’s famed level break, Feeling J’Bay weaves aerial photographs, historic surf clips, and intimate interviews with locals, legends, and artists into a visible meditation on the wave — and the individuals who have lived and surfed its story.

“I grew up with this wave proper outdoors my door. It taught me every part — self-discipline, pleasure, perception,” stated skilled surfer Joshe Faulkner who shares his story within the movie. “Seeing our tales instructed like this jogs my memory that J-Bay is larger than anyone surfer. It’s a sense that belongs to all of us.”

Directed by Peri vP, the movie additionally options voices and visuals from throughout the city’s previous and current, together with surf trade pioneer Cheron Kraak, skilled surfers Jordy Smith and Mike February, and writer-freediver Amal Perrotin.

That is our method of giving again to a city that’s given a lot to the browsing world.”
