‘I love you forever’: Wiz Khalifa mourns the sudden death of his father

Wiz Khalifa is sharing gratitude via the ache. On Friday (Feb. 13), the Grammy-nominated rapper revealed that his father, Laurence Thomaz, has died.

“Immediately my father determined to not get up,” he wrote in a sequence of posts on X. “I’ll all the time love him, miss him and be [grateful] for the issues he taught me. He went out like a real yogi, at peace and on his personal time. I like you eternally Laurence W. Thomaz.”

In a follow-up publish he added, “The final dialog i had with my dad was him telling me how happy with me he was for the film i used to be in and I promised him i’d do extra. LT Without end.”

After a number of followers provided their condolences, Wiz dove deeper into what his father meant to him.

“My father’s passing was sudden however seeing how many individuals love and revered him makes glad and i do know he’s proud that he left a constructive influence on this earth. Actually all he ever wished,” he wrote.

The elder Thomaz’s bond with Wiz echoed in how the “Younger, Wild and Free” rapper raised his son, Sebastian, whom he shares with ex-wife Amber Rose. In an episode from the 2019 docuseries titled “Wiz Khalifa: Behind The Cam,” Laurence Thomaz mirrored on how his grandson modified his son’s life for the higher.

“Sebastian’s matured him, but it surely’s made him extra critical and perceive: ‘I’ve to be right here; I can’t do the damaging, reckless issues I used to be doing earlier than: I’ve this little man to look out for,’” Thomaz stated.

A army man, the elder Thomaz planted the seeds of music within the thoughts of Wiz at a really younger age.

“Wiz’s dad is an actual musical individual,” Will Dzombak, Wiz’s day-to-day supervisor and co-CEO of Taylor Gang informed Complicated in a 2012 interview. “Rising up, as an alternative of watching TV, they used to all the time take heed to music. He took that with him as he acquired older.”
