Compton Unified School Board Elects New Officers – Los Angeles Sentinel

The Compton Unified College District (CUSD) Board of Trustees chosen its officers for the 2025–2026 faculty 12 months on July 29.

Micah Ali was reelected as board president, Michael Hooper is vice chairman, and Satra Zurita is the clerk. Ayanna E. Davis, Ed.D., continues because the legislative consultant, whereas Denzell Perry now serves because the L.A. County faculty trustees consultant.

“I’m deeply humbled by the continued belief and confidence positioned in me by my fellow trustees and the neighborhood we serve,” mentioned Ali, who has served 18 years and is the longest-serving president within the district’s historical past.

The present slate of officers will serve from July 2025 by means of June 2026.

Hooper shared, “It’s an thrilling time to function vice chairman. I’m pleased with our unimaginable progress and keen to maintain supporting scholar success throughout the complete faculty district.”

Zurita added, “Our college students deserve one of the best, and we’re ensuring they get it—from new services like the brand new Compton Excessive College to expanded educational alternatives.”

Davis mentioned, “As legislative consultant, I stay centered on advocating for the insurance policies and sources our students and educators must thrive.”

Perry acknowledged, “I’m honored to signify Compton Unified on the county degree. I look ahead to highlighting our achievements and pushing for continued progress.”

Moss commented, “We’re seeing the outcomes of years of arduous work, and I’m proud to be a part of a group that retains placing our college students first.”

Taylor-Nice mentioned, “As somebody deeply rooted on this neighborhood, I’m dedicated to making sure each faculty displays the excellence our households deserve.”
