CBCF releases survey on African-American voters’ 2024 election priorities

The Congressional Black Caucus Basis is releasing a report that sheds mild on the problems African-American voters would have taken to the poll field.

(Black PR Wire) [Washington, D.C.] – Just lately, the Congressional Black Caucus Basis (CBCF) introduced the discharge of its newest analysis findings, Amplifying Black Views: Insights from the 2024 Pre-Election Survey. Carried out by CBCF’s Heart for Coverage Evaluation and Analysis (CPAR), the report gives a complete evaluation of the important thing issues and priorities of Black voters main into the pivotal 2024 election. The survey, performed throughout CBCF’s 53rd Annual Legislative Convention (ALC) in September, captures the views of Black Individuals on crucial points, together with the historic nomination of former Vice President Kamala Harris, Challenge 2025, and civic engagement efforts within the lead-up to the election.

“These findings present crucial insights into the priorities and issues of Black voters at a defining second in our democracy,” stated Dr. Jonathan Cox, vice chairman of the Heart for Coverage Evaluation and Analysis. “By capturing their views on key points, we acquire a deeper understanding of the motivations driving Black civic engagement.”

Insights from the survey reaffirm that Black voters stay extremely engaged and deeply conscious of the crucial points shaping their communities and the nation. Primarily based on responses from greater than 900 people, the findings spotlight the unwavering dedication of Black voters throughout an intense election season.

Notably, 100% of respondents recognized schooling and felony justice as prime priorities for Black Individuals, regardless of these points receiving little consideration in Presidential marketing campaign rhetoric. The survey additionally challenges prevailing narratives about Black voter enthusiasm, significantly amongst Black males, with practically 90% of Black male respondents expressing pleasure about Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential bid.

Moreover, survey insights study generational and regional views, revealing that Gen Z respondents prioritized local weather change greater than older generations, whereas Southern respondents had been particularly involved about voter suppression on the polls. These insights underscore the varied and urgent issues throughout the Black citizens because the nation approached an important election.

 This survey is the primary installment of a two-part analysis sequence. With the midterm election season on the horizon, CPAR will launch Amplifying Black Views: Insights from the 2024 Publish-Election Survey, in March. Half two will study how Black voters’ issues advanced following President Donald Trump’s electoral victory.
