Cartoonists Affiliation of Nigeria CARTAN having launched its CACAFEST opening had a buzz of many wanting to satisfy a few of their favourite Nigerian cartoonists who showcased their cartoons and artworks on the competition which happened at Freedom Park on Lagos Island.
CARTAN had a powerful array of cartoons on severe topics affecting the polity and the globe. The occasion was made up of works of Nigerian cartoonists in Nigeria and within the diaspora.
The benefit of getting cartoons on show generates curiosity, consciousness, and closeness to cartoonists whose work folks have been studying and seeing. and for collectors to gather. CACAFEST has been receiving visitors viewing cartoons and a few buying cartoons. Names of Nigerian cartoonists who had their work exhibited included, Kingsley Kalu Mba, Samuel Ojo, Gabriel Erapi, Kehinde Omotosho, Oladejo Akande, Kingsley Okoronkwo Kaycee, Mike Asukwo, Albert Ohams, Mustapha Bulama, Chino Obasi, Dada Adekola, Olufemi Arowolo, Ganiyu Jimoh Jimga, Ikogbode Sumaina, Leke Moses, Tayo Fatunla, Francis Odupute, Don Marvel Mudiaga, Jimoh Samsideen, Morak Oguntade, Olanrewaju Gafar, Olorunfemi Adedeji, Victor Asowata, Segun Awosiyan and Adewale Adebiyi.
The artwork of Cartooning has come a good distance in Nigeria which Akinola Lasekan began a number of years in the past.
