Black Leaders React To HUD Chief Retiring

U.S. Housing and City Improvement (HUD) Secretary Marcia Fudge was being showered with praises and gratitude by Black leaders particularly after she introduced Monday her surprising resignation from President Joe Biden’s cupboard.

The resignation is about to take impact almost three years to the day when she was confirmed. It was not instantly clear why she plans to resign from HUD.

Fudge, 71, a Democrat who represented Ohio in Congress from 2008 to 2020, is certainly one of a handful of Black cupboard secretaries Biden handpicked following his historic election. She can be simply the second Black girl to steer the federal government company.

HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge’s tenure
