Black lawmaker silenced by Tennessee GOP that tried to oust him

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Republican lawmakers voted Monday to briefly silence a Democratic member of the so-called Tennessee Three throughout an already tense Home flooring session after figuring out the younger Black member violated newly enacted guidelines designed to punish disruptive members.
