Black Grandpa From Florida Shot Dead on Thanksgiving Day Over Loud Music Dispute

Nationwide — Hureleyon McLean, a 72-year-old man from Broward County, Florida, was shot and killed on Thanksgiving day following a dispute over loud music. McLean’s spouse, Rose, is livid when their neighbor, who admitted to taking pictures McLean, has not been charged after claiming self-defense.

The incident occurred round 3:30pm at an condo complicated about 30 miles from Miami. McLean had gone to the neighbor’s condo to handle the grievance about his music when the confrontation escalated.

“I heard the gunshot, ‘growth,’ and I simply fly to the door. I see my husband mendacity face down within the blood,” McLean’s spouse instructed WSVN.

She mentioned the neighbor confirmed no regret for the taking pictures and even threatened her.

“No, he wasn’t sorry. He was simply standing, me along with his gun in his hand the identical means,” Rose mentioned. “And I’m going as much as him and say, ‘Why did you shoot my husband? Why?’ And he mentioned to me, ‘If I didn’t shut my mouth, he would shoot me, too.’”

Police confirmed the 2 males had argued earlier than the taking pictures. The neighbor, who reportedly cooperated with detectives, admitted to taking pictures McLean however claimed it was in self-defense.

McLean’s spouse strongly disputes the declare, saying her husband didn’t have any weapons when he was shot within the head.

McLean, a father and grandfather, had been celebrating Thanksgiving along with his household earlier than the tragic incident. Paramedics couldn’t revive him. Family and friends later held a prayer circle exterior the condo.

“It’s loopy how mankind has gotten to a spot the place we don’t honor life like we should always honor,” mentioned Pastor Tracy McCloud, the sufferer’s pastor. “Who would have thought one thing tragic like this is able to occur?”

No prices have been filed but as police proceed their investigation. The Broward County State Lawyer’s Workplace mentioned they are going to determine whether or not to press prices as soon as the investigation concludes.
