Ashanti reveals why she won’t be showing her baby’s face in upcoming reality show

Ashanti and Nelly are giving followers a glimpse into their non-public lives, however Ashanti says it’s simply that—a glimpse. Throughout a latest look on the American Black Movie Pageant, the “Silly” singer revealed that her 11-month-old son Kareem Kenkaide “KK” Haynes’ face is not going to seem on viewers’ screens. And whereas that information could seem surprising to some, the first-time mother says the choice was a no brainer. 

 “There was no hesitation. I knew I used to be not gonna present my son, so, you realize, he’s blurred out, however you see him and I simply really feel like I’m sort of like a mama bear already, you realize? Very protecting. And I simply really feel like, I didn’t wanna present my son to the world,” she informed the pageant’s viewers, per Individuals journal. 

“I haven’t even posted him on Instagram or something like that,” she added. “I simply really feel like these moments are very sacred to me, and we’ll make the choice on when he’s able to come out and present.”

Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their son in July 2024, a yr after the couple rekindled their romance. In 2023, the singer and rapper shocked followers after they introduced that they have been again collectively, 20 years after their reported breakup. 

“I all the time needed kids; I all the time needed to get married,” Ashanti stated as beforehand reported by theGrio. “I [just] didn’t know that I used to be going to spin the block and be with my ex from a very long time in the past.”

And of their new actuality present airing on Peacock, the newlyweds and fogeys are bringing viewers alongside as they navigate the ups and downs of marriage and parenthood, whereas juggling their careers. The community describes “Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Collectively” as “a fun-filled exploration of affection’s second possibilities.

“Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Collectively” premieres on June 26, solely on Peacock.
