*Critics and UK audiences are wild about “Rye Lane,” a 2023 British romantic comedy-drama movie directed by Raine Allen-Miller starring Vivian Oparah and David Jonsson.

“Rye Lane was such an amazing and quirky rom-com. And with two darkish skinned Black Brit leads? *chef’s kiss*,” one individual tweeted. One other Twitter person famous that they “cherished seeing two dark-skinned black British leads having candy, carefree banter.”
Oparah mentioned the movie is a love letter to dark-skinned Black characters.
