9-Year-Old Black Boy Suffers Severe Burns After Tablet Charger Sparks Fire on His Necklace

Nationwide — Ashtyn Pitts, a 9-year-old African American boy from Jena, Louisiana, was severely burned after his metallic necklace received tangled in his pill charger whereas he was asleep. His household says the freak accident induced a small fireplace that left him with critical accidents to his face and neck.

The incident occurred round 5 a.m. on October 12 whereas Ashtyn was sleeping together with his pill charging beside him. His mom, Lauren Morrow, mentioned the charger by some means wrapped round his necklace and sparked a fireplace. “The one manner I understand how to clarify it’s that it was a freak accident,” she mentioned, in keeping with Folks.

The household now hopes their story will increase consciousness about secure charging habits.
