2024 Delta authors on tour stops in Baltimore on April 6 – AFRO American Newspapers

The 2024 Delta Authors on Tour, an initiative of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s Nationwide Arts and Letters Fee, will probably be making its Japanese Area cease in Baltimore on April 6.

The occasion will probably be hosted by three native alumnae chapters of the sorority, together with the Baltimore Metropolis, Baltimore County and Baltimore Metropolitan alumnae chapters.

The occasion titled, “Elevating Your Thoughts Between The Strains,” will showcase 9 Delta Sigma Theta authors on the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, 830 East Pratt St., on April 6 from 1-3 p.m.  The occasion is free and open to the general public.

Kellie Gowan, tri-chair of the Delta Authors On Tour occasion stated, “It’s an honor to be chosen by the Japanese Area to host this thrilling occasion in our metropolis.” 

“All three alumnae chapters have labored collectively to make this occasion doable,” she continued. “We sit up for welcoming these authors and sharing them and their books with Baltimore.”

The 9 authors embody Michelle Coles, creator of “Black Was the Ink;” Diane Hamilton, creator of “Maryville, The Audacity of Folks;” Vivian King, who wrote “When The Phrases Immediately Stopped;” Marion Lane, creator “The place Did We Come From: The Beginning of Black America;” Daphne Maxwell Reid, creator of “Doorways;” Cicely Mitchell, along with her e-book “The Journey Champion: A 4 Step Information to Touring the World Solo, Safely And On A Finances;” Jayne Lynn Peabody Smith, creator of “Heels Hearts and Halos: Classes On My Journey;” Daybreak Wayman, creator of “Malcolm Who Will You Be?” and Terri Johnson, who penned the e-book, “Religion Alone.”  

In accordance with McGowan, “Every creator’s e-book will probably be out there on the market and signing.”
