Charlotte Metropolis Council accredited $1.5 million for The West Boulevard Neighborhood Coalition.
Funding will go towards the Three Sisters Market, an area grocery co-op within the West Hall of Alternative at 2901 Romare Bearden Drive.
The West Hall of Alternative has been a meals desert for almost 30 years, which means residents don’t have any walkable grocery shops inside a one-mile radius, in line with Sharika Consolation, the group’s govt director.
The Market is predicted to interrupt floor in 2024 and open in 2025.

LYNX Crimson Line Design
Metropolis leaders voted Monday evening to pay $5 million to structure agency HDR Engineering, Inc. for planning and design companies to replace the brand new LYNX Gentle Rail line design.

The 25-mile LYNX Crimson Line is proposed to attach the cities of Davidson, Cornelius, Mooresville and Huntersville to Uptown Charlotte.
Beatties Ford Street Sidewalk Section 1 mission
Metropolis Council additionally voted to pay $931,937.05 to Environment friendly Developments, LLC, to enhance sidewalks on Beatties Ford Street.
The mission consists of setting up pedestrian enhancements to sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, driveways, a bus shelter, retaining partitions and planting strips alongside the north aspect of Beatties Ford Street from LaSalle Avenue to Northwest Faculty of the Arts.
The mission is anticipated to be full by late 2024.
