A number of advocacy teams are banding collectively for a brand new marketing campaign urging American customers to take part in a boycott in opposition to the nation’s largest companies, which they are saying have folded to President Donald Trump‘s “bigoted and anti-democratic assaults on our communities and our values.”

The “We Ain’t Shopping for it” financial stress marketing campaign, led by Black Voters Matter, Till Freedom, and Indivisible, calls on customers to boycott Goal, Amazon, and House Depot from Black Friday, Nov. 28, via Cyber Monday, Dec. 1.

“From cravenly abandoning their commitments to range, fairness and inclusion (DEI) to enabling the terrorizing of our communities, company collaboration should cease,” the teams stated in a press launch.

They urged the boycott “till these main retailers stop collaborating with and enabling this administration’s dangerous insurance policies.” As an alternative, the advocacy teams, joined by the Working Households Celebration and the grassroots motion 50501, stated they and customers who be a part of them will “make investments our collective {dollars} in Black-, minority-, and immigrant-owned companies, small and native outlets and retailers which have stood agency for the rights and freedom of the American individuals. “

The coalition notes Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the largest procuring days of the 12 months, with gross sales anticipated to achieve $80 billion. U.S. on-line gross sales are anticipated to achieve $253.4 billion between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2025.

“From the day he stepped foot into workplace, Donald Trump has achieved all the pieces he can to tear aside the material of our communities and strip us of our energy and the required instruments to assist us resist his fascist agenda. As an alternative of preventing again and supporting the very individuals who put cash of their pockets, companies and retailers have bowed at Trump’s ft. However we ain’t shopping for it,” stated LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter.

“We ain’t shopping for that the wealthiest nation on the earth will punish the poor throughout the vacation season by withholding SNAP advantages. We ain’t shopping for that households could be torn aside and other people kidnapped off the streets by masked ICE brokers. We ain’t shopping for that DEI and racial justice commitments could be tossed apart on the whims of political comfort. And we ain’t shopping for that companies are powerless in all of this.”

Tamika Mallory, co-founder of Till Freedom, stated, “These companies can’t preserve cashing in on working individuals and pretending their palms are tied.”

“They get billions in tax breaks whereas their executives pocket document paychecks and bonuses, however when it’s time to face up in opposition to fascism and racism, they go silent. We see it, and we ain’t shopping for it,” she added.

The “We Ain’t Shopping for It” marketing campaign follows the profitable “Goal Quick” boycott over its rollback of DEI initiatives, which resulted in Goal dropping important retailer foot visitors, stagnant gross sales revenue, and, finally, shedding greater than 1,800 staff.

“We’re gonna make it an actual blackout,” LaTosha Brown informed theGrio of the vacation financial stress marketing campaign. “You’ll be able to’t sit over there and we proceed to present you our cash and never maintain them to account. And so I’m hoping that folks begin looking for the way we use our financial energy.”

As an alternative of spending {dollars} on the focused firms, the “We Ain’t Shopping for It” marketing campaign is asking customers to “store small, native, or with companies affirming our humanity.” The marketing campaign can be asking the general public to signal its pledge to be a “aware shopper” and amplify its mission by spreading the phrase of their communities and on-line.
