Secretary of State Marco Rubio introduced Wednesday that the U.S. will start aggressively revoking visas for Chinese language college students as a part of a broader effort to tighten nationwide safety and safeguard mental property.
“Beneath President Donald Trump’s management, the U.S. State Division will work with the Division of Homeland Safety to aggressively revoke visas for Chinese language college students, together with these with connections to the Chinese language Communist Celebration or finding out in essential fields,” Rubio wrote in a press release.
The State Division will even revise its visa standards to extend scrutiny for all future purposes from people in China and Hong Kong.
The transfer follows the introduction of the Cease CCP VISAs Act in March by Home Republicans, geared toward blocking perceived infiltration by the Chinese language Communist Celebration in educational establishments.
