Final month, the U.S. Division of Justice’s Civil Rights Division noticed a mass exodus of greater than 100 attorneys who up and resigned from the division resulting from its give attention to white grievance and steering away from (or outright gutting) instances involving civil rights protections for Black folks, folks of shade and different marginalized teams underneath the administration of President Donald Trump. Effectively, the division is presently solidifying its function as a reverse-racism watchdog by launching an investigation into  Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s hiring practices, which, apparently, was introduced on after the mayor publicly spoke on the variety of his administration — and everyone knows range is a cardinal sin within the Church of Making White Nationalism Nice Once more.

On Monday, the DOJ despatched a letter to Johnson’s workplace informing him of the investigation to find out whether or not he has violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which the Trump administration has largely been manipulating to struggle fictional anti-white discrimination because the very begin of the president’s second time period.

“In your remarks made yesterday on the Apostolic Church of God in Woodlawn, you spotlight the variety of Black officers in [your] administration,” the letter reads. “You then went on to checklist every of those people, emphasizing their race.”

“If these form of hiring choices are being made for top-level positions in your administration, then it begs the query whether or not such choices are additionally being made for lower-level positions,” the letter continued.

Truly, just one query is being begged right here: Why can’t white folks ever simply thoughts their enterprise?

It seems that, basically, a Black mayor boasted to a Black congregation at a Black church about all of the Black individuals who have earned positions in his administration — as a result of boasting about Black achievement is solely a factor we do — and a bunch of white folks in essentially the most underqualified White Home in trendy historical past determined it should imply non-Black folks have been discriminated towards.

“It’s the most numerous administration within the historical past of Chicago,” Johnson stated throughout what was truly a virtually hour-long interview on the church with Bishop Byron Brazier on Sunday.

Thoughts you, in response to Axios, Brandon Johnson’s workplace defended its hiring practices by citing 2025 knowledge that signifies the racial make-up of his workplace isn’t far off from the racial make-up of town of Chicago. The information reportedly confirmed that the mayor’s employees is 34% Black, 30% white, 24% Latino and seven% Asian. Brandon Johnson’s workplace stated in a press release Monday that the mayor “is proud to have essentially the most numerous administration within the historical past of our metropolis….[reflecting] the variety and values of Chicago.”

The Trump administration has made it its mission to throw its weight round, bullying each state, metropolis, or federal establishment it thinks it has even caught a whiff of DEI from. In truth, Trump’s factless anti-DEI propaganda has gotten so uncontrolled that the DOJ just lately ended a settlement settlement concerning wastewater points in a principally Black rural Alabama county, citing the White Home’s anti-DEI directive, all as a result of environmental racism was addressed in the course of the case. As for Chicago, final month, Trump’s Division of Training launched an investigation into Chicago Public Colleges over a “Black College students Success Plan” meant to assist college students in underserved and under-resourced communities (learn: Black faculty districts) maximize their potential.

So, mainly, any try and counter America’s lengthy, overwhelming historical past of systemic racism and disenfranchisement of Black folks will all the time be met with baseless, self-serving allegations of anti-white discrimination by an administration that has devoted itself to shifting the nation backward.

Unhappy.
