The Trump administration has taken a brand new step in its quest to make white nationalism nice once more by taking an axe to any program designed to stage an uneven taking part in discipline that has traditionally benefited white males — or what MAGA conservatives name DEI.

In response to the Unbiased, the White Home, on Wednesday, filed a proposal for a settlement with the Division of Transportation, which was sued in 2023 by two white-owned development corporations, Mid-America Milling Firm and Bagshaw Trucking Inc., over its 42-year-old Deprived Enterprise Enterprise Program, which the 2 corporations declare is “unconstitutional,” mainly as a result of it helps enterprise owned by ladies and non-white folks.

The $37 billion program, which is funded by the federal authorities however administered by states, was first licensed by Congress in 1983. It reportedly serves some 49,000 companies that qualify as deprived, which the plaintiffs within the lawsuit apparently imagine means non-white males by default, presumably as a result of — oh, I don’t know — white males have overwhelmingly dominated each main trade in America for everything of America’s existence.

From the Unbiased:

The unique criticism described the DBE as “the biggest, and maybe oldest affirmative motion program in U.S. historical past” and claimed that this system’s “objectives” have been in reality “discriminatory obstacles” focusing on nondesignated racial teams together with white Individuals.

“The phrase ‘deprived’ is just code for girls and sure minorities,” the criticism said, including that: “Disfavored racial teams should compete with the popular racial teams on an unequal footing.

“As a result of the DBE program violates the Structure’s ‘promise of equal therapy,’ it have to be completely dismantled.”

If white conservatives had the important considering capability that might permit them to discern irony, they’d perceive how comically ironic it’s that the plaintiffs are basically suggesting that white persons are among the many “disfavored racial teams” that should “compete with the popular racial teams.”

They’re mainly describing white supremacy, however in reverse.

White males signify the one “most well-liked” demographic within the nation that has loved unfettered entry to the so-called American dream all through American historical past. Each different “disfavored” demographic has been “competing” for second place, and Black folks proceed to battle to not are available in useless final in that race.

The plaintiffs even seem to acknowledge that the Deprived Enterprise Enterprise Program doesn’t specify race or gender; they simply imagine ladies and minorities are what the phrase “deprived” is “code” for. However why even assume that? It’s virtually as in the event that they know completely effectively that it solely occurs to shake out that manner as a result of “ladies and sure minorities” signify essentially the most deprived, systemically discriminated in opposition to teams, traditionally and at the moment.

Each resolution the Trump administration makes is aimed toward turning the clock again on variety, racial progress, gender equality and any semblance of a taking part in discipline that’s truly stage.

Unhappy.
