Within the newest episode of “Donald Trump vs. Anyone Who Dares to Converse the Fact,” the previous president has now set his social media sights on none aside from Charlamagne Tha God — radio large, cultural critic, and unapologetically Black truth-teller.

Sure, that Charlamagne. The identical voice that has challenged presidents, grilled candidates, and held energy to account by way of his nationally syndicated platform, The Breakfast Membership. Over the weekend, he had the audacity — the Black audacity — to talk reality to energy on Fox Information, throughout an interview with Lara Trump (sure, the daughter-in-law). And what did he say that shook the Mar-a-Lago marble flooring?

“I wouldn’t give [Trump’s presidency] a great score just because the least of us are nonetheless being impacted the worst,” Charlamagne instructed Lara with the type of calm reality that cuts deep.

The previous president, unsurprisingly, couldn’t take the warmth. He fled to Fact Social — his echo chamber of delusion — to label Charlamagne a “dope” and a “racist sleazebag.” He even had the nerve to assault the radio host’s identify, implying that invoking “God” in his moniker was some type of offense. Sir… is that this actually the hill you need to die on?

Charlamagne didn’t simply criticize Trump’s tax cuts that helped the 1%—together with himself—he identified the actual value. “There’s going to be so many individuals that’s harm by that invoice,” he mentioned, noting the gutting of Medicaid and the financial hurt to already weak communities. Translation: Black people, poor people, the ignored and underserved—once more, the “least of us.”

However maybe probably the most poignant—and prophetic—a part of Charlamagne’s interview was his prediction of a Republican Get together civil battle. “There’s a political coup happening,” he mentioned, hinting that the Epstein recordsdata may very well be the torpedo that lastly sinks the MAGA Titanic. “Conventional conservatives see this Epstein mess as their golden ticket to reclaim the social gathering.”

And let’s be actual: they could. The Justice Division’s refusal to launch Epstein’s full file has sparked firestorms throughout the web. Conspiracy theorists, on-line sleuths, and even Trump’s personal base are demanding transparency. In spite of everything, Epstein wasn’t only a monster—he was a monster with connections.

Trump, who as soon as posed gleefully for cameras alongside Epstein, desires us to imagine he’s on the aspect of reality. But, the second anybody dares to recommend accountability — particularly somebody Black, daring, and media-savvy — Trump does what he does finest: deflects, distracts, and detonates.

Charlamagne, for his half, stays unfazed. He reminded viewers that he gave President Biden the identical remedy. That’s referred to as consistency. That’s referred to as journalism. That’s referred to as loving your folks sufficient to demand higher from energy — regardless of who holds it.

So right here we’re: in a battle not simply between a former president and a well-liked radio host, however between delusion and reality, vanity and accountability.

And if Trump thought this was going to finish with a clapback on social media, he may need to suppose once more.
