Trump says he’s sending National Guard to majority-Black Memphis, an apparent new strategy after court setback

President Donald Trump introduced he’s sending the Nationwide Guard to Memphis, a majority-Black metropolis in Tennessee, a Republican-controlled state.

“We’re going to Memphis,” Trump informed Fox Information on Friday, calling the town “deeply troubled.” The president stated he had the assist of each Republican Tennessee Governor Invoice Lee and Memphis Mayor Paul Younger, a Democrat.

Pearson known as Trump’s announcement a “perpetuation of authoritarianism by the Trump administration” that ought to “fear everybody.”

Cross continued, “He is aware of that the one factor that he does have–as a result of he does have against the law narrative–is crime. So he likes to speak about it, despite the fact that crime is down in cities throughout America.
