‘The Unifics’ Singer, Gregory Cook, Dies at 72

Gregory Aaron Prepare dinner Sr., a local Washingtonian who sang with the group, “The Unifics” died on July 8 at his dwelling in Northeast after battling pancreatic most cancers.

Prepare dinner, 72, began singing in his church choir as a younger boy. He joined with a bunch of buddies on the campus of Howard College to kind the Unifics in 1967.

The Unifics turned recognized for hit songs resembling “The Court docket of Love” and “The Starting of My Finish.” The Unifics made appearances at famous venues together with the Howard Theatre, the Apollo Theater, the Uptown Theater, Madison Sq. Backyard, and the Copacabana.

After leaving the Unifics, Prepare dinner continued his leisure profession with the “Chilites,” the “Blue Notes,” and others. He lived out the final years of his life serving the neighborhood in varied capacities together with volunteer work on the Washington Hospital Rehab Middle.

Prepare dinner is survived by his spouse, kids, grandchildren, prolonged household and buddies, and associates. Funeral companies will likely be held Saturday at sixteenth Road and Decatur Seventh-Day Adventist Church from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
