Thando Mangaliso talks SA Fashion Week collection

South African designer Thando Mangaliso, proprietor of Solar Goddess South Africa will showcase his twentieth assortment at SA Trend Week, happening from Thursday 26 September to twenty-eight September.

SUN GODDESS SOUTH AFRICA SHOWCASES 20TH COLLECTION AT SA FASHION WEEK

SA Trend Week is happening at Melrose Arch, Gauteng from the 26 to twenty-eight September, the place South African designers are set to showcase their new collections. One of many designers is Thando Mangaliso, the person behind Solar Goddess South Africa, who can be showcasing the model’s twentieth assortment. He runs the enterprise alongside his spouse, Vanya Mangaliso.

The theme is Winter Safari and expresses how one navigates the  chilly winter months with glamour and magnificence. The gathering pays homage to wild life heritage as expressed within the materials and winter textures which are impressed by the Large 5. Earthy tones with dashes of the attractive African dawn can be seen within the assortment.

“It’s a true testomony to the notion that in each stroll with nature one receives excess of he seeks and that once we look deep into nature then instantly, we perceive all the things . They are saying that nature holds the important thing to all our  aesthetic, mental, cognitive and religious wellbeing. THANDO MANGALISO: ‘WE ROOT ALL OUR DESIGNS IN SOUTH AFRICAN CULTURE’

Mangaliso defined that animal prints have been used to attract the large 5 into the designs.

“We introduced the large 5 into the gathering with the usage of animal prints that come from the wild. So, we like to make use of the leopard print, the giraffe print and the zebra print,” stated Mangaliso completely to The South African.

He went on to elucidate that the giraffe print texture is underrated.

“The textures mimic the animal pores and skin. So, when you consider the zebra print and leopard print – they’re heat, they’re wealthy, they’re textured. They’re African and we root all our designs in South African tradition, and we use a number of the icons from the animal kingdom that come from Africa. So, leopard could be very robust, which represents royalty. Zebra is robust as nicely, synonymous . Probably the most underrated is the giraffe print, we like the feel and the patterns the giraffe prints make,” he continued.

THANDO MANGALISO ON USING EARTHY TONES

Mangaliso went on to say that earthy tones have been used for the designs and these have been in correlation for winter, since it’s a winter assortment.

“We selected the colors of the panorama, when you consider winter, issues are a bit dry, particularly right here within the Northern a part of the nation. The earth is regenerating itself when you consider the sunsets, the sunrises, the gold grass, the panorama, which is a bit parched. Which provides, play to the inspiration of our designs. So, a number of khaki, a number of greys, browns and black in all of that,” he stated.

Mangaliso went on to say that the inspiration behind the gathering is a season of austerity.

“The season is a tricky one. It’s a season of austerity , we needed to have fun that season. Sure, it’s chilly, however when you assume off lovely jackets, lovely capes, as a lot as we’re chilly we have to be glamorous and have fun all seasons. Solar Goddess has represented South African Trend at numerous Trend Weeks Platforms equivalent to London (UK), Atlanta (US), New Delhi and Mumbai (India), Seoul (Korea), Lagos (Nigeria), Madagascar, Stockholm (Sweden), Nairobi in Kenya, Singapore, Sicily Caltanissetta and Sicily in Italy, Utrecht and Amsterdam within the Netherlands and, Acapulco in Mexico.
