As information continues to unfold across the Diddy trial, many in our neighborhood—particularly Black ladies and femmes—are sitting with an advanced, painful mixture of feelings. For a lot of survivors, this second is greater than a headline. It’s private. It brings up deep wounds, ancestral ache, and the ever-present reminder of how violence towards Black our bodies—particularly Black ladies’s our bodies—too typically goes ignored, silenced, or justified.
At Remedy for Black Ladies, we imagine that conversations like this matter. And we imagine they need to occur with care, intention, and a dedication to centering Black survivors of their therapeutic.
In that spirit, we’re honored to share assets and reflections from Dr. Shena Younger—an embodiment-focused psychologist, healer, creator, and survivor—who has devoted her life to creating areas for Black ladies and femmes to really feel at residence and free of their our bodies once more. She joined us on the podcast to share knowledge about what therapeutic can appear like following a sexual assault.
