Smithsonian Institution Defies Trump’s Order Firing Director, Says Secretary Is the Only One Who Makes ‘Personnel Decisions’

The venerable Smithsonian Establishment is taking a stand in opposition to the Trump administration, asserting that it has sole authority over its hiring practices, even because it tries to not provoke President Donald Trump.
