San Quentin State Prison Hosts First-Ever Father-Daughter Dance

San Quentin State Jail brings father and daughters collectively for its first “Mum or dad Promenade.”

A coalition of organizations not too long ago teamed as much as host San Quentin State Jail’s first-ever father-daughter dance, the place “missed milestones had been redeemed.”

A viral video making the rounds on social media captures highlights from the “Mum or dad Promenade” at San Quentin State Jail, an emotional occasion organized by the jail reform advocacy group The Folks In Blue in collaboration with the faith-based nonprofit God Behind Bars, The Final Mile, Bought Mild, Angel Truffles, and ACME Floral Co. The promenade marked the grand finale of an eight-week workshop led by 18 incarcerated males advocating for jail reform, and it’s receiving widespread reward and assist on-line, KTVU stories.

The heartfelt occasion marked the end result of an eight-week household communication workshop created by Tam Nguyen, a San Quentin resident and member of The Folks in Blue who has been incarcerated for 22 years.
