Rev. William Barber Enlists Civil Rights Powerhouse Harry Daniels

Famend civil rights activist Rev. William Barber II held a press convention in Greenville, North Carolina, on Jan. 8, outlining a plan of action following his expulsion from a North Carolina movie show final month, in line with ABC11. The incident occurred throughout a screening of The Shade Purple at AMC Hearth Tower 12 theater in Greenville when Barber, who suffers from ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis, was requested to depart after bringing his personal stool to the venue.

In response to the incident, Barber launched nationwide civil rights lawyer Harry Daniels in the course of the press convention. Daniels will oversee the investigation into the matter and emphasised the objective of coaching fairly than searching for termination of concerned events.

“We’re not within the place of wanting individuals terminated or fired; that doesn’t serve our total desired goal, however we are able to get them skilled so perhaps they will practice others,” said Daniels in the course of the convention.

Accompanying Barber had been advocates from the American Affiliation of Individuals with Disabilities, highlighting the broader context of the incident in relation to incapacity rights.

Barber had beforehand met with Adam Aron, president of AMC Theaters, on Jan. 2 in Greenville. AMC Theaters issued an apology to Barber for the mishandling of the incident. Daniels characterised it as a race concern and a human rights concern.
