I sit upon my entrance porch stoop
Beneath the morning solar.
Grateful for the second spent
Away from everybody.
The air is contemporary and barely chilled,
The sky is blue and clear.
The silence that surrounds me now
Is music to my ears.
I really like the morning better of all,
It is my most tranquil time,
When the promise of a model new day
Can ease my troubled thoughts.
When second possibilities appear extra doable
And the world much less chilly and darkish,
And hope can one way or the other pierce the partitions
Of my unhappy and aching coronary heart.
When left alone with nature
All of the world appears far-off
And the woes of life so trivial
When wrapped in her embrace.
However alas the birds awaken
And start to sing their songs,
And folks slowly wander by
And nod as they go on.
The solar has now grown brighter
Because it rises within the sky
And within the distance there is a whistle
As a practice goes lumbering by.
The world is looking out to me
To leap again within the fray.
To have religion issues can get higher
And let go of yesterday.
So right now I get to begin once more
By the morning mild renewed.
Feeling courageous and energized,
There may be nothing I am unable to do.
