Regina Jones Documentary Airs Feb 16 on Three Networks

Who within the Hell is Regina Jones?

*A couple of 12 months in the past, on February 10, 2025, throughout Black Historical past Month, the Ebell Theater in Los Angeles acknowledged the co-founder and writer of Soul Journal with a luncheon billed “In Dialog with Regina Jones.”

Co-founded together with her late husband, Ken Jones, after the 1965 Watts riot, Soul Journal (now defunct) began as a small, native Los Angeles-based publication for Black leisure that quickly after, blossomed into a world phenomenon.

In her guide, Items of My Life, Regina candidly chronicles her life in poetry with temporary interludes of particulars about her mother and father and the difficult struggles of being married to Ken Jones, who was a preferred newscaster.

The guide concludes with a quick biography of Regina rising up in Los Angeles and finally being within the limelight with luminaries comparable to Motown stars like Stevie Surprise, The Jacksons, and Diana Ross, in addition to the steady line-up of SOLAR Data, amongst different common singers and actors of the day.

Along with the TV broadcast, Regina has been nominated for the 2026 NAACP Picture Award (airing February twenty eighth) for Excellent Documentary (Movie). Regina, who was as soon as a publicist for the NAACP Picture Awards from 1987 to 2001, says, “It’s now come full circle, and I’m so grateful.”
