On Monday, October 27, the highlight was on the G.R.I.T.S. (Women Raised In The South) pink carpet premiere and screening at Look Dine-In Cinemas in Brookhaven. The night was full of Southern attraction and star energy as solid members Jasmine Sargent, Ashanti Harris, and Aja “Slimeroni” Canyon made dazzling appearances alongside the present’s creator, Deji LaRay. The power was excessive, the style was on level, and it was actually an evening celebrating Southern sisterhood and storytelling.
The solid of G.R.I.T.S., an eight-episode ALLBLK collection, is opening up about their heartfelt, humorous, and refreshingly actual present that spotlights sisterhood within the South. G.R.I.T.S. (Women Raised within the South) follows three Memphis associates Keisha (Jasmine Sargent), Ty (Ashanti Harris), and Francis (Aja “Slimeroni” Canyon) as they navigate life, love, and ambition whereas staying grounded of their favourite pastime: curler skating. Collectively, they’re redefining what it means to chase desires, help one another, and discover pleasure within the journey.
