Pinky Cole’s Bar Vegan to Close in Atlanta

The closing is a part of Pinky Cole’s Slutty Vegan restructuring

Bar Vegan, the plant-based restaurant and cocktail bar based by Pinky Cole, is will shut its Atlanta location on Might 5 after 4 years.

The closing is a part of a broader restructuring effort inside Cole’s enterprise ventures, which incorporates the shuttering of Slutty Vegan branches in Duluth and on the campuses of Spelman School and Georgia Tech. 

In an Instagram announcement, Bar Vegan acknowledged, “This chapter could also be closing, however the story doesn’t finish there. Keep tuned;  there’s extra coming to Atlanta this summer season. Rumor has it, we may be part of it.”

Bar Vegan opened February 2021, taking on the area previously occupied by The Mercury on the second ground of Ponce Metropolis Market in Atlanta’s Midtown district. The institution rapidly gained consideration for its theatrical cocktails served in unconventional vessels like Ferris wheels and hearth extinguishers. The restaurant additionally provided vegan meals akin to Philly Cheesesteaks and eggrolls. 

Regardless of its reputation, Bar Vegan confronted challenges, together with a 2022 lawsuit filed by a former worker alleging improper tip pooling and wage violations. 

Cole additionally confronted vital challenges in 2025 that led to the short-term lack of possession of her enterprise in February, on account of monetary difficulties, together with a $10 million company overhead. She handed over management of the corporate as a part of the restructuring course of.

Cole reclaimed her firm in March. She bought it again beneath a brand new enterprise entity, “Ain’t No one Coming To See You, Otis LLC,” a line from The Temptations biopic. Cole has plans to launch the “Slutty Vegan 2.0”

Bar Vegan has expanded to Lawrenceville, Georgia, the place a location opened in July 2024.
