Paid In Full Foundation Celebrates Hip-Hop Legends In Las Vegas

Kool G Rap, Grand Puba (Model Nubian), George Clinton (Parliament), Kool Rock Ski (Fats Boys), and Jalil Hutchins (Whodini) have been honored.

A hip-hop took celebration place Oct. 18 on the third annual Paid In Full Basis Hip-Hop Grandmaster Awards in Las Vegas.

Grand Puba, Kool G Rap, actual funk grasp, George Clinton, The Fats Boys’ Kool Rock Ski, and Whodini’s Jalil Hutchins have been acknowledged for his or her contributions to the tradition at The Bellagio Resort & On line casino.

Hip-hop luminaries in attendance to help the honorees included Nas, Fab 5 Freddy, and Dr. Dre.

Per Instagram:

“The third Annual @PaidInFullFoundation Hip-Hop Grandmaster Awards honored the legendary @kgrfilms and @therealgrandpuba , whereas the enduring @yolikegeorge acquired the Quincy Jones Award for a lifetime of affect.

“Hosted by the Board of Administrators — Ben Horowitz, Felicia Horowitz, @stevestoute, @m_ebanksapollo , and @therealqd3 — with help from Advisory Board members @nas, @fab5freddy, and @videomusicbox , the night time celebrated the pioneers, legends, and the beats that laid the muse for Hip-Hop.

The Paid in Full Basis was began to yearly honor artists and supply grants to older (and regularly missed) hip-hop artists. The group was based in 2022 by Ben and Felicia Horowitz.

“Sadly, lots of the most impactful authentic artists by no means acquired recognition proportional with their distinctive contributions to arts and tradition,” the group’s mission assertion reads partially. “The Paid in Full Basis goals to rectify that by way of its grantmaking program, by each honoring the individuals who constructed Hip Hop and enabling them to pursue their artistic and mental pursuits for the advantage of society.”

This yr, Kool G Rap and Grand Puba acquired the Hip-Hop Grandmaster Award. George Clinton was offered with the inaugural Quincy Jones Award. Kool Rock-Ski and WHutchins have been honored with the inaugural Contributor Award.

Performers on the occasion included Ludacris, Mobb Deep’s Havoc, Babyface, Nas, Rakim, and Kool Moe Dee.
