BARBERS HILL MADNESS CONTINUES

Barber’s Hill ISD superintendent Greg Poole paid for a full-page advert to assault highschool junior Darryl George. Photograph by Lucio Vasquez/Houston Public Media.

A grown man able of unbelievable energy and affect, making properly over six figures, took day trip of his life to pay for a full-page advert within the Houston Chronicle to assault a Black highschool junior, Darryl George. All as a result of this dude, the superintendent of Barbers Hill ISD, didn’t like the way in which God ordained the hair to develop out of George’s head. As if suspending George a number of occasions wasn’t sufficient. As if making George miss over 80% of his college days outdoors his college wasn’t sufficient. As if the truth that the rule Poole cited for the suspension wasn’t even damaged by George however is damaged each day by white college students wasn’t sufficient. This dude takes out a full-page advert to disgrace George and states, “Being an American requires conformity.” How insufficient should Poole really feel about himself, to the very core of his insecure being, to take policing Black our bodies to that over-the-top stage? Additionally, Blackfolk know that when those that consider within the fantasy of white supremacy count on/demand “conformity” of us (i.e. to get with this system everybody else is on), what they actually count on/demand of us is slavish submission (do as “we” say, no matter what “we” do).

TIM SCOTT… MAYNE!

Final week, South Carolina US Senator Tim Scott made what many are calling one of the shameful shows of kissing a** within the historical past of a**es out there to be kissed. Appointed to his present place by Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, and a long-time supporter of hers, when Trump gained the South Carolina caucus, few anticipated Scott to be in attendance on the victory occasion. He was not solely current, he was on stage, standing over Trump’s left shoulder, providing some Olympic-level skinnin’ & grinnin’. Then, Trump went all the way in which in on Scott, primarily calling him a no spine, disloyal, punk, to which Scott responded by interrupting Trump’s rant to take the mic and say, whereas trying deeply into Trump’s eyes: “I simply love you.” Ni**a please!

Hundreds of Blackfolk instantly interpreted the act the identical means – Scott simply bought “buck-broken” in entrance of the world. “Buck-breaking” was a vile apply utilized by “homeowners” of the enslaved after they needed to punish Black males for standing up as Black males; as kids of God. To “take their manhood,” these “homeowners” would rape the brother in entrance of everybody to “break” the spirit of the “buck.” However in Scott’s case, is it buck-breaking if the “buck” overtly seeks to be “damaged” and responds by saying “I simply love you”? Ni**a please.

BROTHER, BROTHER, BROTHER

How will Black males vote in 2024?

Over the numerous many years of our time on this Babylon, we’ve seen each shade and form of oppression and abuse from each type of U.S. establishment (non secular, educational, judicial, and so forth.). And with the rise in hate crimes and hate speech aimed toward Blacks, and the deepening of the racial/political divide, one chorus shared typically by Blackfolk over the previous two years has been, “Oh, we’ve been right here earlier than. We’ve seen oppression like this prior to now.” Mistaken. We now have not seen this earlier than. Over the previous two years one of many nation’s two most important political events (Republicans) has overtly endorsed 1) political violence, together with jailing and assassinating political opponents, 2) a dictator type of authorities over democracy (see Project2025), 3) declaring Democrats enemies of the state who deserve violent assaults, jail, and/or loss of life, 4) attacking over-qualified Black girls in each space of society, 5) growing the warfare towards Black youth, and 6) declaring Black votes and Black historical past as illegitimate. These final three (numbers 4, 5, and 6) they’ve been doing ceaselessly. However these first three are new ranges of white nationalism on this nation which might be each disturbing and intensely harmful for Blackfolk… and fairly truthfully, for all folks. But, each day, we hear experiences that extra younger and middle-aged Black males are speaking about voting for the occasion of Trump? Both somebody’s mendacity about Black males and their 2024 political intentions, or we’ve lowered ourselves to a technology filled with Tim Scotts overtly searching for to be damaged for all of the world to see.
